Our Reviews

We are proud of our café and we want you to love it as much as we do! We are so pleased when people take the time to write up a review of their dining experiences. We thank everyone for their contributions.

Mama Knows West

If you need an excuse to go and enjoy a most delicious brekkie, brunch or lunch - then Mamma says jump in the car, on your bike or use your two feet and a heartbeat to get you and the fam to this new cafe. It is divine.

Tot: Hot or Not

The inside of Fig and Walnut is dressed like a French chateau’s drawing room, with navy blue panels, olde worlde chandeliers and gilt mirrors, one of which beckons ‘Welcome’.

Neos Cosmos

Fig & Walnut has only been around for eight months, but it feels like it's always been nestled in that leafy pocket right opposite Seddon train station. The old Edwardian cottage breathes life into the neighbourhood, reintroduced as an artisanal café which is attracting locals and foodies alike.

First ever customer!

It seems the story behind the name, is as rich as the coffee extracting through the stylish Synesso on the front counter, and the venues fit out.  The rear of the properties not only features an outdoor deck area, herb garden, and cubby house; but is also adorned with fig and walnut trees. The story is, Vera’s landlord was disciplined as a child for picking a fig from a neighbour’s tree, and made a promise to himself, to one day have his own fig tree. He went one step further, and paired it with a walnut tree.  Fig & Walnut’s name pays homage to his dream achieved.

Consider the Sauce

And the food, based on our first visit’s meals, is marvellous – and those we eyeball that are headed elsewhere look, some of them, even sexier.
